52 African & Diaspora Artists — A Year of Black Voices, Visions and Futures Guided Journal

52 Weeks with African & Diaspora Artists: A Weekly Journal Exploring Memory, Identity & Reinvention

Spend a year exploring 52 artists from Africa and the global diaspora whose work moves through memory, migration, identity, resistance and cultural reinvention. Across painting, sculpture, photography, textile, performance and conceptual practice, the journey reveals how artists transform inherited histories into new visual languages and possibilities.

Across 52 undated weekly experiences, the journey unfolds through four distinct sections:

Section I — Memory & Inheritance
Explore how artists draw upon ancestral forms, cultural memory, materials and traditions, transforming inheritance into a living source of continuity, questioning and creative agency.

Section II — Power, Visibility & Resistance
Discover artists confronting colonial histories, racial hierarchies and systems of representation, using art to reclaim visibility and challenge who has the authority to define meaning.

Section III — Movement, Diaspora & Exchange
Follow artists working between places and cultures as migration, urban life, music, fashion and memory combine to create identities that belong to more than one world at once.

Section IV — Futures & Reimagined Worlds
Explore artists using technology, mythology, speculative thinking and design to imagine African and diasporic futures beyond inherited limitations.

Each week combines a full-page visual opening, a substantial contextual essay and a dedicated fillable Journal & Reflection Notes page designed to encourage closer observation and personal reflection.
