52 Weeks with Wassily Kandinsky Guided Journal

52 Weeks with Wassily Kandinsky: A Weekly Journal Inspired by Abstract Art & Inner Worlds

Spend a year exploring Wassily Kandinsky through colour, music, form and the search for an art that could express inner experience rather than simply describe the visible world. From early landscapes and folk influences to abstraction, Bauhaus geometry and late Paris works, the journey follows a lifetime of experimentation shaped by curiosity, upheaval and spiritual inquiry.

Across 52 undated weekly experiences, the journey unfolds through four distinct sections:

Section I — Early Munich & Colour Experiments
Explore Kandinsky’s early training, Murnau landscapes, folk motifs, music and colour theory as familiar subjects begin to dissolve into pattern, rhythm and emotional intensity.

Section II — From Representation to Abstraction
Follow the shift into improvisation, symbolic forms and increasingly non-representational work, alongside the Blue Rider circle, writing, war and repeated displacement.

Section III — Bauhaus, Geometry & Spiritual Form
Enter Kandinsky’s Bauhaus years, where points, lines, planes, circles, grids and colour relationships become a visual language shaped equally by teaching, structure and experiment.

Section IV — Late Paris & Inner Worlds
Explore his later Paris work through floating forms, organic shapes, layered colour, memory and music, as abstraction becomes increasingly intimate and inward-looking.

Each week combines a full-page visual opening, a substantial contextual essay and a dedicated fillable Journal Notes page designed to encourage closer observation and personal reflection.
