Section IV — Dresden, Düsseldorf & the Final Shadow
Trace Faust, Genoveva, Manfred, the Rhenish Symphony, conducting difficulties, late concertos, Brahms’s arrival, the Ghost Variations, the Rhine and Schumann’s final separation from family life at Endenich, ending with Clara’s role in preserving his musical legacy.
